In Tibetan Buddhism Bardos are places the soul goes to in-between lives. Or perhaps lives are places the soul goes to in-between their existence in the less time dependent Bardo realms of being. Entering these Bardos does not require the death of the physical body. Our awareness can enter them through our practices of cultivating no ordinary states, and in doing so we can learn from the wisdom of these Bardo realms while still in this life. These images are portals to help in entering those realms so that we might learn from the timeless, more expansive wisdom they have to offer
